Kareena Kapoor On Pregnancy, And the Challenges of Motherhood

Kareena Kapoor Second Baby : Sunday morning, Feb 21st, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan were blessed with a second baby, a boy at Mumbai's breach candy hospital. This is the couple's second child together after their firstborn, Taimur.

Kareena Kapoor's dad Randhir broke the news to the media saying the mother and the child were both doing fine.

On Motherhood Tips

• Speaking about the support that she gains from her husband, Saif Ali Khan, she said, “I think that he does understand in a way, especially when it comes to working women — be it a mother, sister, wife or daughter."
• Freedom of expression. Talking about whether Kareena wants her elder son Taimur to grow up to be an actor, she said in an interview to Indian Express, "I would want him to do exactly what he wants in life. He has understood that they go out to work and that is called shooting."

On Pregnancy Process

Kareena Kapoor has been candid about her pregnancy, its challenges and its happiness. Khan was among few celebrities who spoke about breastfeeding and its importance for the babies’ health. She has often said, through action, that marriage and pregnancy don’t mean an end to the career of female actors in Bollywood. She admits pregnancy comes with real challenges.

“I remember some long days and nights, without much sleep. Some were frustrating, as I tried inexpertly to calm my crying child. Some were simply bliss – as I treasured the new life that I had been able to bring into the world,” she says of the process.

On Importance of Relationships

Recently, ahead of her delivery, she had penned an emotional note on building relationships, "The most important thing to building a relationship, whether at home, at work or in life, is somebody ‘getting’ you. Now, this is a two-way street. We want everybody to ‘get’ us, to understand us, but very few do."

Kareena Kapoor has been juggling work and moving houses amidst her second pregnancy. She tied the knot with actor Saif Ali Khan in 2012. The couple had their first child Taimur in 2016. They had announced their second pregnancy in 2020.
