Game Of Thrones actor Natalie Dormer reveals that she recently became a mother to a girl child earlier this year. She, along with her partner David Oakes welcomed their daughter three months ago after she conceived during the pandemic.
The 39-year-old English actor is two times nominated for Gemini Awards for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Drama Series.
Natalie Dormer On Being Pregnant
In the That’s After Life podcast, Dormer said that "getting pregnant and having a baby during the pandemic is the perfect thing to do."
"Get pregnant, have a baby," the actor added, "I feel like I’m probably being a bit of a stereotype, she’ll probably be sitting in a bar in 30 years’ time one day going, ‘Yeah, I’m a COVID baby," adding, "There is going to be lots of COVID babies, what else could people do?"
The English actor who got major recognition for her role in the Drama series The Tudors shared her experience on motherhood and called her daughter "an absolute joy" and that she is enjoying being a mother. She also mentioned the ‘downside’ to this whole new journey.
"She’s just three months and she’s an absolute joy. I’m never going to complain about shooting hours ever again because sleep deprivation is something else."
Dormer, who is known for playing Margery Tyrell in Game of Thrones, met David Oakes, her partner, in 2019 when they worked together in the West End play.
Dormer further shared about her plans to return to work, she said that she is preparing to return to work in the near future, revealing that she will appear in a theatre role that will allow her to stay close to her family in London. She admits that she will find her return to work-life difficult as she doesn't want to "warp the childhood experience."
