Celebrity Moms Reveal How Motherhood Changed Them

2021 has welcomed several celebrity babies into the world. These celebrity moms expanded their families and gave birth this year. How did motherhood change them?

1. Vanessa Morgan

Vanessa Morgan is an actor known for starring in the film My Babysitter’s a Vampire and the television series of the same name. Morgan is also known for playing Toni Topaz in The CW teen drama show Riverdale. On January 4, 2020, Morgan got married to professional basketball player Michael Kopech. In July, Kopech filed for divorce and as of December 2020, the divorce case was pending.

On January 30, 2021, E! News confirmed Morgan gave birth to her first child, a son and that Kopech was with her. Vanessa gave us an Instagram update to announce that she was all set for maternity leave. In the caption, she wrote, "Feeling grateful to my showrunner & producers for being so accommodating & writing my pregnancy into the show!"

2. Daniella Monet

The actor and singer Daniella Monet is known for her roles in Listen Up!, Zoey 101, and Victorious. She made her film debut when she starred as Inga Veinshtein in Nancy Drew (2007). Apart from acting, Monet is also known for her television presenting. She hosted the series AwesomenessTV.

In December 2017, Monet became engaged to Andrew Gardner after seven years of dating. On Febrary 12,2021 Monet gave birth to their second child, Ivry Money Zuvic-Garner.

Monet said motherhood forced her to prioritise. "It was so easy to waste time before becoming a mom. Now I realize just how precious every minute of the day is," she noted in an interview to People.

3. Paloma Faith

Paloma Faith is a singer, songwriter, and actor. Faith’s debut album Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful was released in 2009 and it has been certified double platinum in the UK. She released her second studio album Fall to Grace in 2012, which debuted at number two on the UK Album Charts. Faith has made feature film appearances in Dread, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Youth, and St Trinian’s.

Paloma Faith gave birth to her first child in December 2016. On September 24, 2020, she announced on her social media that she was expecting her second child. The second child was conceived through IVF and was born on February 21, 2021.

“I feel more powerful since becoming a mother, and more capable than I’ve ever felt,” says Faith about how motherhood has changed her.

4. Kelly Rowland

Kelly Rowland is a singer, songwriter, actor and television personality. She was a member of Destiny’s Child with Beyoncé. Rowland released her first studio album Simply Deep in 2002. After Destiny’s Child was disbanded in 2006, she released her second album Ms. Kelly in 2007. She released two more albums in 2011 and 2013, Here I Am and Talk a Good Game.

Rowland’s most notable filmography roles were in the movies Freddy vs. Jason, Think Like a Man, Bad Hair, and Black is King. She was a television judge on The X Factor UK and The X Factor US. Rowland also starred as a coach on The Voice Austrailia.

Kelly Rowland and Tim Weatherson got married on May 9, 2014 and she gave birth to their first child on November 4, 2014. On January 21, 2021 gave birth to their second child, Noah Jon Weatherson.

“It has made me more bold. More courageous," Rowland said about motherhood. Of her little boy she added, "I really want to impress him at all times.”

5. Rose Leslie

Actor Leslie Rose is known for her performance in Downton Abbey and Game of Thrones. She made her acting debut in the television film New Town for which she won a Scottish BAFTA for Best Acting Performance – New Talent Award. Leslie appeared in the film Now Is Good, Honeymoon, and The Last Witch Hunter. She played DS Emma Lane in the BBC drama Luther alongside Idris Elba and received positive response.

Rose Leslie married Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington on June 23, 2018. Leslie gave birth to a baby boy in February 2021. Just before the baby was born, Leslie said, 'I am thrilled to be expecting. I can’t wait to meet the new member of our family!'

6. Jessica Szohr

Jessica Szohr is an actor that started her acting career on television shows such as My Wife and Kids, Joan of Arcadia, What About Brian, and CSI: Miami. She gained recognition for playing Vanessa Abrams on The CW’s teen drama Gossip Girl. Szohr has appeared in feature films such as Pirhanha 3D, The Internship, and Ted 2. She has also starred in shows such as Twin Peaks, Kingdom, and Complications.

Jessica Szohr is married to professional ice hockey player Brad Richardson. Szohr gave birth to their child in January 2021.

Szohr became a first-time mom when she welcomed her daughter, Bowie Ella. The Gossip Girl actor shared a candid photo of herself breastfeeding with her baby and talked about multi-tasking.
