Who Is Raj Kaushal? Mandira Bedi's Husband Passes Away At 49

Who is Raj Kaushal: Popular actor Mandira Bedi’s husband Raj Kaushal breathed his last on June 30 2021 at around 4:30 am. The Indian film director succumbed to a sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 49.

The news of Raj Kaushal's demise was confirmed by Filmmaker Onir via Twitter this morning. He expressed heartfelt condolences for the director and his family. Soon, many friends and family members took to Twitter to express their grief over the unfortunate loss.

Working in the industry for 22 years, Kaushal has worked in advertising and Hindi feature films as a writer, director and producer. Here is all we know about the  film director and copywriter, Raj Kaushal.

1. Raj Kaushal was an Indian director, producer and stuntman who was active throughout the late ’90s and mid-2000s.
2. He is known for directing Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi (1999) and Shaadi Ka Laddoo (2004), which he also produced alongside. Anthony Kaun Hai? (2006) was the last movie he directed. He also produced My Brother…Nikhil in 2005.
3. Kaushal's  first film as an individual director Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi has the distinction of being the first stop for over 183 newcomers, including actors, singers, music directors, technicians, and spot guys. Dino Morea, Suraj, Mahalaxmi, Sanjay Suri, Vishal and Shekhar, Salim and Sulieman, Rinki Khanna, Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, KK, and Oscar-winning choreographer Longines Fernandes are among some well-known names in the entertainment industry Kaushal has worked with.
4. Mandira Bedi and Raj Kaushal tied the knot in 1999. The couple started dating in the late 1990s.
5. Raj also identifies himself as a writer and has advertised films for over 20 years. He is a Bachelor of Science and wanted to pursue a career in aviation before his venture into direction.
6. Raj began his career in 1989 as a copywriter. His first gig was with Contract Advertising India Private Limited, where he worked for three years. During his time as a copywriter, Raj was nominated for the One Show Award NY for his advertisement on VIP Designer vests.
7. Raj worked as an assistant director at MAD Films from 1992 until 1996. The project was helmed under the late Mukul Anand. Raj assisted on over a hundred commercials and one feature film called Trimurti. Trimurti was produced by the legendry director Subhash Ghai.
8. Ten years after working under experts, Raj established his own advertising production company called Fuel in 1998. Since then, he directed more than 800 commercial films in over 19 countries.
9. Raj is the man behind coining the popular tag lines  Iss cement me Jaan hai, Desh ki Dhadkan, India Go among many others.
10. Kaushal and Mandira recently adopted 4-year-old daughter Tara in July last year. Their son Vir is now 10.
