In 2013, Chandausi resident Sakshi Goel's friend introduced her to a boy, Aman Sharma, whom she knew from the college bus. The boy turned out to be Sakshi's senior and his class was next to hers, too. What happened to be a casual 'hello' turned into a college romance and the rest is history.
In this conversation with SheThePeople, Sakshi Goel recalls her college days with Aman, how their relationship became serious over time, the challenges they faced over the long distance, and how getting married after a decade of meeting each other proved to be the most beautiful moment of their lives.
Sakshi Goel Love Story
“It all started in the year 2013 when I had just joined college. I had no idea that this day would mark the beginning of a beautiful love story that would last for years to come. It was just another ordinary day when my friend introduced me to a boy she knew from her bus. She told me that he was very handsome and that I should befriend him. I was hesitant at first, but my friend insisted, so I decided to give it a shot.
Little did I know that this chance encounter would change my life forever. As fate would have it, he was one year senior to me, and his class was next to mine. Every day, before the lecture started, I would see him standing outside his class with his friends. My friend would explain his gestures to me, and we would try to catch his attention. One day, as we stood outside our class, he caught my eye, and we had our first real conversation.
From that day on, we would meet whenever we got the chance, and our bond grew stronger with each passing day. Like any normal couple, we had our fair share of fights and misunderstandings. The biggest of which was the two years we spent in a long-distance relationship. He had moved to Delhi to pursue his post-graduation, while I stayed back in Chandausi to finish my graduation. It was a difficult time for both of us.
At first, I couldn't understand his situation and wanted him to give all of his time to me. I felt alone and neglected, but as time went by, we learned to understand and support each other. He started to make time for me, and I learned to give him space for his studies. We listened to each other and tried to make it work, even though we were miles apart. With time, our love grew stronger. I knew in my heart that he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
Today, after nine years of being together, we are happily married. We have faced many challenges along the way, but we have always overcome them with love, trust, and understanding. It just goes to show that true love knows no boundaries, and if two people are meant to be together, nothing can stand in their way.”
