How Kaneez And Andleeb Rabbi Did Not Let Age-Difference Define Their Marriage

Love isn't easy, especially if it doesn't abide by social conventions. However, Kaneez did not bow down to conventions when it came to whom she fell in love with, and it was the strength of her relationship with Andleeb Rabbi that makes them powerful could and parents to two amazing children.

Kaneez Rabbi Story

“When I first met Rabbi, I was a rebellious 21-year-old who was just coming out of a chaotic relationship. He, on the other hand, was calm and collected 29-year-old who had already settled into his career. When I joined the same company that he worked in, our colleagues told me how rigid he was. But when I finally spoke to him, I saw a deep sense of sincerity in his eyes that drew me in.

We began the conversation by getting to know each other and were pleasantly surprised to find that we shared many similarities in terms of our origins and lifestyle. As the conversation progressed, I realized that he was the one for me. So, I took a leap of faith and proposed to him over dinner during our second meeting. However, he turned me down, saying that I was too young. I was shocked and taken aback. I couldn't understand how someone could turn down someone as pretty and nice as me. But he was resolute in his decision and asked for some time to think about it. Following that, we began having daily conversations, which allowed us to get to know each other on a deeper level. And after six months, he finally told me he was also interested.

We started dating, and after about a year of being together, we decided to get married. However, my parents believed that he was too old for me. At that time, I felt that it was not going to happen, but Rabbi insisted on waiting until they were ready to give us their blessing.

It took us eight long years to finally get married. During those eight years, my father kept pushing me to reconsider and find someone more suitable. and I kept pushing through, convinced we were meant to be together.

Today, after being married for 14 years, my husband has become more like a son to my father than I am his daughter. They have amazing chemistry, and my father admits that he had misread the situation and I had made the right decision all along. He is now proud of me for having the courage to stand by my choice and for knowing what was best for me.”
