Led by the talented Apoorva Arora, the ensemble cast of Family Aaj Kal brings the Kashyap family to life with authenticity and humour. Apoorva Arora recently shared insights about her role and the show in an interview with SheThePeople.

From the trailer, it's evident that the series offers a modern take on the traditional Indian family, highlighting the intricacies of relationships and the impact of societal conditioning. Arora started by talking about the show, "We often think we know our families inside out, but it's during moments of disagreement and crisis that we truly understand the depth of our connections and the influence of conditioning on our decisions." She added, "It's about discovering who we truly are as individuals within the dynamics of our family units."

The show promises to blend entertainment with thought-provoking themes, tackling issues that resonate with audiences of all ages. Arora elaborated, "I think the little battles that women fight on a daily basis to gain whatever control they naturally deserve are the kinds of questions that the show is going to raise while also being extremely entertaining and extremely fun to watch."

Cast And Crew

Arora is accompanied by the highly skilled Sonali Sachdev, who portrays her mother, and the late Nitesh Pandey, who graces the screen as her father. The cast also features emerging talents Prakhar Singh and Aakarshan Singh, alongside seasoned actor Masood Akhtar. Show Challenges Ingrained Class Biases

In discussing her role, Arora reflects on the relatability of Meher's struggles. "Meher's story mirrors the experiences of countless young women who navigate the delicate balance between familial expectations and personal desires. Her journey resonates with anyone who has ever felt torn between tradition and individuality."

As the conversation shifts to societal perceptions, Arora addresses the stereotypes and biases that shape our judgments. "The show challenges ingrained class biases and prompts viewers to question their preconceived notions," she notes. "It's a reminder that judgement often stems from self-preservation, but true understanding requires empathy and open-mindedness."

When asked about her favourite family drama, Arora humorously quips that her own family is drama enough, with just three members creating enough characters to fill a novel. However, on a more serious note, she shares that her family enjoys watching Pakistani dramas together, particularly one called Jackson Heights. Arora reminisces about introducing her mother to the show, which has now become a cherished pastime for them, bonding over every episode and discussing the intricate plotlines afterwards.

As Family Aaj Kal prepares to make its debut, Arora invites viewers to embark on a journey of laughter, tears, and self-discovery. "It's a show that entertains, enlightens, and sparks conversations. And above all, it's a celebration of the beautiful messiness of family life", she concludes.
