Saba Haider has garnered many cheers from Indians in America as she claimed a victory against Republican candidate Patti Gustin in the DuPage County Board elections. She won the poll by a margin of 8,521 votes. The Democratic candidate was born in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and has lived in the United States for over 17 years. Haider said that she aims to focus on tackling mental health, economic sustainability, and environmental challenges. She had also contested the DuPage County polls in 2022 when she lost by just 1,000 votes.

Saba Haider pursued her higher education in UP, where she topped BSc at Ram Chameli Chadha Vishwas Girls’ College, and won a gold medal in MSc at Aligarh Muslim University. She is passionate about social service, healthcare and research, according to her family. "Politics is in our blood, and when she had the opportunity in America, she seized it", her father told Free Press Journal. She moved to the US after her marriage.
Haider was elected to the DuPage County Health Board. The Democratic leader has led awareness programs about health, education, environmental protection, and addiction prevention. She is committed to promoting wellness and reportedly takes yoga and meditation classes in the United States. Haider has reportedly also co-organised International Yoga Day events and workshops on Sanskrit and pranayama across the country.
Haider's online portfolio introduced her commitment to public welfare in DuPage. "Immigrating from India over 17 years ago, Saba, alongside her husband and two children, has built strong local ties, emphasizing the power of community and the importance of service, reflecting values instilled by her parents," the website reads, adding that she is focused on leveraging her background to "unite and advance DuPage County towards a thriving future."
According to Free Press Journal, Haider's mother, Mehzabeen Haider runs a school for underprivileged children in Ghaziabad. Her brother, Zeeshan Haider, who runs a business in Oman. Her husband, Ali Kazmi, is a computer engineer and moved to the US in 2007.
