TravelHer: Spirituality Meets Patriotism And Lip-Smacking Food In Amritsar

Amritsar is a holy city where we have Golden Temple and lots of other spiritually and historically relevant sites like Durgiana Temple and Jalianwala Bagh. I am so much fascinated with the lifestyle people have in this city.

Amritsar is a very special place for me. It is very close to my heart because this is where I was born, thus I feel an unbreakable bond with this city. I took a trip to the city, all on my own, by train recently and apart from having a blast with my relatives, I also visited places like Golden Temple, Jalianwala Bagh, Durgiana Temple and Wagah Border. The travel and sightseeing, combined with the delicious food which I got to munch on made this trip one of the most memorable one that I've ever had.

The Lessons I Learnt From The Trip
amritsar travel
This was the first time I embarked on a journey on my own. I learned how to be self - reliant and learned the value of self. My visit to the Golden Temple brought me closer to God. I felt pure and spiritual. I felt like I had attained peace. The beauty of lush green fields and yummy food left me feeling warm and content.

Best Moments From The Trip

Amritsar is a holy city where we have Golden Temple and lots of other spiritually and historically relevant sites like Durgiana Temple and Jalianwala Bagh. I am so fascinated with the lifestyle people have in this city. People here live a stressfree, carefree and fun life. The food here is so tasty and fascinating that we cannot control ourselves from liking our fingers. The authentic specialty of Amritsar, known as “Chur-Chur Naan” is an awesome treat for foodies. This city is not only famous for its culture but also for the history associated with it. Whether it is the Jalianwala bagh massacre, Operation Blue Star or the Bhindranwale mission, this city has survived numerous upheavals, both before and after the independence, but the spirit remains intact and vivacious as ever. Amritsar also shares a LOC with Lahore city of Pakistan and the beating Retreat Ceremony at Wagah border is a must watch. It fills you with such sense of patriotism!

I came to visit Amritsar because my maternal relatives live here and everyone here is so gentle and kind. Maybe because they love me, but I feel people here are very kind and generous and I loved staying there.

What This Trip Did For Me
It made me realize my true worth. I just felt free, self-reliant and most of all I was very happy. To taste the Amritsari naan, a one of its own kind delicacy, will remain etched in my memory forever. By enjoying freely I felt independent. I felt like I am so lucky that I was born in this city.
My Other Experiences
I came to visit Amritsar because my maternal relatives live here and everyone here is so gentle and kind. Maybe because they love me, but I feel people here are very kind and generous and I loved staying there. It is one of the best travel experiences of my life.
