How Priyanka Chopra's Hair Care Range Emerged As Second Wealthiest Celebrity Beauty Brand

Global Icon Priyanka Chopra's hair care brand is the second wealthiest celebrity beauty brand of 2023, as per a recent study. The report further states Rihanna's Fenty Beauty takes the top spot as the current wealthiest celebrity beauty brand, followed by Priyanka's Anomaly.

US reality TV personality Kylie Jenner's Kylie Cosmetics is third on the list with £301.4 million, singer Ariana Grande's R.E.M. Beauty stood fourth on the list with £70.3 million, and Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez made up the top five with £50.2 million in revenues.

Chopra, who is back in Mumbai after many years, has been making headlines for various reasons. The Citadel actor flew back to India with her daughter Malti Marie and spouse Nick Jonas for the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre launch.

Chopra was clad in a shimmering peach gown by Lebanese designer Elie Saab. She shared her experience on her Instagram handle. "I was so moved to watch the debut of the musical civilization to the nation last night at the launch of NMACC. May have shed a few tears of pride!" wrote the actor. Chopra gave a dance performance with Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh. The duo danced to the song 'Gallan Gudiyaan' from their film Dil Dhadakne Do.

Priyanka Chopra was also captured sharing a happy moment with Karan Johar after she made quite a controversial statement about leaving Bollywood. People had been blaming Karan Johar for driving away Chopra, but the two seemed to be on good terms.

In another post on Instagram, Chopra shared photos of her "date night" with her spouse Nick Jonas. The couple had an impromptu photo shoot with an autorickshaw in Mumbai. This was after wrapping up the two days of events at the NMACC. Chopra’s outfit for the photoshoot was created from a 65-year-old vintage Banarasi patola saree with silver threads and gold electroplating on Khadi silk.

Chopra, who is known for making honest and bold statements, made some huge revelations on the Arm Chair Expert Podcast. She discussed everything from her love life to motherhood, her transition from Hollywood to Beverly Hills, and her career goals and equal pay.

Priyanka Chopra revealed she was being "pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). "People weren’t casting me, I had beef with people, and I’m not good at playing that game. I was kind of tired of politics, and I said I needed a break. So, when the music album opportunity came to me in 2012, I decided that I was going to America," said the actor, speaking to Dax Shepard on the Armchair Expert Podcast. The former Miss World acted in Quantico, an American thriller drama series, which became a huge hit, and there was no going back.

The actor shared that she decided to freeze her eggs in her thirties so that she could continue pursuing her ambitions and reach a certain place in her career. "I felt such freedom that I did it in my early thirties." She said that she chose to freeze her eggs on the advice of her mother, Dr Madhu Chopra, who is a gynaecologist.

Priyanka Chopra has received flak in the past for sporting an American accent. She said, "People debate a lot about immigrants changing their accents, but it’s basically to make it convenient for another person."

Addressing the issue of colourism in Bollywood, Chopra revealed how some sort of success was guaranteed for fair-skinned girls when she joined the industry. "For darker girls, it was like, well, let’s lighten you up. I wasn’t even that dark, but I was lightened up in many movies." The actor even expressed regret for starring in a fairness cream ad during the mid-2000s.

Priyanka Chopra also shared about how her relationship with her husband, Nick Jonas, began. "Nick texted me when I was at the end of my last long relationship, so I didn’t want to engage at that time. She was also unsure if their relationship would work given their 10-year age gap.

Chopra and Jonas got engaged in 2018 after only a few months of dating. The couple got married the same year. The couple had both a traditional Hindu and a Christian wedding. Initially, they were at the receiving end of criticism for their age gap.

Not long after that had died down, Chopra and Jonas had their first baby, a girl, through surrogacy. This, once again, led to a controversy, and Priyanka Chopra was heavily criticised for having a baby through surrogacy in 2022. Their name for their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, was also mocked. However, the power couple remained strong and continued to keep their sass alive despite societal opinions.

Chopra is one of the highest-paid Indian actors and is the recipient of numerous accolades, including the national award and Filmfare awards. She was also honoured with the Padma Shri in 2016 by the government of India. She was also listed among the world’s 100 most powerful women by Forbes and the BBC in 2022. On the work front, Priyanka Chopra will next be seen in the American series Citadel, which is scheduled to release on April 28, 2023.
