Men still see women as an object of desire said Irrfan Khan after delivering his most complex performance in Indo French Hindi drama called The Song of Scorpions. The film is centred around a character, Nooran (Golshifteh Farahani), who refuses to become a victim of society's assumptions and challenge what comes her way. Though Irrfan's role has a dark side and is projected as a husband who was orchestrating the life of the woman he loved, Khan came off the film stronger about his views on women and sexism.

He said that violence against women in India was set to go up unless the society started accepting women for who they were. “Let people meet and interact and understand the significance of a woman’s role. You are not complete without a woman’s role and that needs to be understood by a man," he said in the interview. Irrfan said the two genders were not meant to compete. "You cannot compare two genders and say that you are the weaker one or you the stronger one. Each gender has their own speciality and magic. They can only compete when you come together,” he said.

“Crimes are going to become more intense because of the dichotomy of sexual repression on one hand and on the other, there’s so much excess and access to porn, that the spiritual side of it is lost,” Khan said.
