Shillong Ri Bhoi Women are excited about the G20 meeting taking place from April 17-18. The women are eagerly looking forward to the visit of foreign delegates.
How excited are the Shillong Ri Bhoi Women?
Women from Umsaw and Quinine villages join forces to clean the highway that runs from Jorabat to Umiam. They also paint the dividers there under the National Highways Authority Of India (NHAI).
The Women will be signing a daily wage contract with NHAI. They commenced work on 30 March and their work ends on 1st of April.
BD Mishra the Meghalaya Governor made a public announcement that their city will be a G20 host welcoming foreign delegates on Space. Mishra made this announcement at Polo Grounds in Shillong during the Republic Day Celebration.
The Nari Shakti Model under India's G20 Presidency promises more participation from women. As can be seen with the Shillong Ri Bhoi Women and many other instances where women have included themselves more. Digital campaigns are also held at rural levels to educate women financially in terms of banking so that they can be financially independent.
There are special loan schemes available for women that help them take a loan for their businesses. Agriculture is expected to see more participation from women this year owing to educational workshops tutoring them on how to grow their agribusinesses.
The digital Saksharta Abhiyaan has been helping women to make themselves financially confident.
The Shillong Ri Bhoi Women are not the only group of women that seek to involve their skills in the upcoming G20 meeting. An all-women Romtamel Performers group during the Shigmotsav has been eyeing the G20 stage.
India's Nari Shakti promises to help and empower women at the grassroots level. A lot of women have begun hoping to reach their professional goals now as schemes and policies are being formulated by the government to encourage women to reach their goals.
