Karan Mehra arrested: Television actor Karan Mehra was arrested after his wife and actor Nisha Rawal filed a complaint in the Goregaon(Mumbai) police last night on assault charges. After spending the entire night in lockup the actor was released on bail this morning, as per a report by ANI.
Rawal registered a complaint against the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor and her husband following a fight on Monday night. The Mumbai Police investigating the case.
The couple, who got married in 2012, also has a four-year-old son Kavish who was born in 2017. Earlier, rumours were doing rounds that Rawal and Mehra have been having trouble in their marriage for a few months now. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Mehra had said in May that he was battling COVID-19 and simultaneously mourning a family member's death who passed away after contracting the virus and in the midst of all this he had to talk to the media to clear the speculations which happened to be a crazy event.
Rawal had also rubbished the rumours that there was marital discord between them as her husband recently shared that the last two weeks have been stressful for him saying, "I was not in the frame of mind but had to set things straight. Nisha has been taking care of me through Covid.”
Denying the rumours, he had said to have no clue what led to these rumours and, all of a sudden, the couple saw this news and had to clear it out. Even after that, he had said they didn’t know how these rumours started spreading.
Mehra gained popularity after playing the role of Naitik Goenka in Star Plus' popular daily show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. He is at present also working in the Punjabi film industry. Rawal, on the other hand, is also a television actor having worked in soaps like Kesar and most recently Shaadi Mubarak. The couple also participated in Nach Baliye season 5 and Nach Baliye Shriman vs Shrimati.
