Wonder Woman 3 is no longer in production at DC Studios because the new executives, James Gunn and Peter Safran, are establishing a precedent and clearing their schedule to make room for upcoming movies.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming Wonder Woman movie does not follow the new guidelines established after careful planning on the part of the studio. The first two Gal Gadot-starring Wonder Woman films, which were released in 2017 and 2020, were directed and co-written by Patty Jenkins.

Furthermore, when the director learned of the news, she allegedly had already given the studios her plans for the upcoming film, which Geoff Johns will co-write with her. Additionally, a day before Gadot celebrated her casting anniversary, she sent out a tweet in which she expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and included a message for her fans that read," The fans. Can't wait to share her next chapter with you."

Following Walter Hamada's departure and restructuring of Warner Bros.'s DC branch, James Gunn and Peter Safran were named the new heads of DC Studios. This development happened just one month ago. When they came in, they started putting together a 10-year plan for the DC Universe that would change things up while still allowing for several movies to be released in 2023.

As well as creating two spinoff series for the universe, Reeves is currently working on the sequel. Although a potential Black Adam sequel is another project that may have a similar fate to Wonder Woman.

Despite much hype surrounding the Dwayne Johnson-starring film, the film only managed to make 385 million dollars worldwide and cost more than 190 million dollars in production costs.
