Michelle Yeoh - Everything Everywhere All At Once

Actor Michelle Yeoh won her first Golden Globe decades after she made her Hollywood debut in 1997. Yeoh won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy.

Yeoh stole the show after she jokingly told the award show's producers to "shut up" after trying to cut her speech short. Music began to play midway through her remarks and Yeoh responded by saying, "I can beat you up and that's serious."

Yeoh said, "This is also for all the shoulders that I stand on, all who came before me, who look like me, and all who are going on this journey with me forward".

Quinta Brunson - Abbott Elementary

Quinta Brunson, producer and star of Abbott Elementary won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy. The 80th Golden Globes marked Brunson's first nomination and win.

Her co-star Tyler James Williams won the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical-Comedy or Drama Television Series.

Co-stars Janelle James and Sheryl Lee Ralph were also nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical-Comedy or Drama Television Series.

Angela Bassett - Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Actor Angela Bassett won the Golden Globe award for her performance as Queen Ramonda in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Bassett won the award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture and paid a heartfelt tribute to her late co-star, Chadwick Boseman.

Boseman passed away due to cancer in 2020 and Bassett said during her acceptance speech, "We mourned, we loved, we healed, and we were surrounded every day with the light and spirit of Chadwick Boseman. This award belongs to all of us and all of you."

Zendaya - Euphoria

Zendaya won the Golden Globe award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama for her role in Euphoria.

While Zendaya won the Golden Globe, she was not present at the event to accept the honour and presenters Glen Powell and Jay Ellis accepted it on her behalf.

Amanda Seyfried - The Dropout

Amanda Seyfried won the Golden Globe award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for her role in The Dropout.

Presenters Cole Hauser and Mo accepted the award on Seyfried's behalf as the actor was "deep in the process of creating a musical and could not be here".

Julia Garner - Ozark

Julia Garner won the Golden Globe award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical-Comedy or Drama Television Series for her role in Ozark.

Garner accepted her first Golden Globe and said "Playing Ruth for the last few years has just been the greatest gift in my life". She thanked her co-stars Jason Bateman and Laura Linney along with the cast and crew.

Jennifer Coolidge - The White Lotus

Jennifer Coolidge's role in The White Lotus not only led to her winning a Golden Globe but also led to several of her scenes going viral and becoming a meme on social media.

Coolidge won the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.

Cate Blanchett - Tár

Actor Cate Blanchett's role as Lydia Tár in the psychological drama film Tár won her the Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama.

The film followed the downfall of fictional composer and conductor Lydia Tár.
