While citizens wait to avail vaccination against the deadly virus, Bollywood actor Shilpa Shirodkar becomes the first one to get it. Shirodkar shared an image on her Instagram where she revealed the news.

The actor is presently in Dubai and it is where she got the COVID-19 vaccine. In the picture she posted on her social media,  the actor can be seen wearing a mask with and a small patch is spotted on her left arm. “Vaccinated and safe !! The new normal .. here I come 2021. Thank-you UAE”, captioned Shirodkar to her post.

Her sister, actor & model Namrata Shirodkar commented on her post and wrote, ‘Good girl’.

51-year-old Shilpa Shirodkar made her film industry debut in 1989 with Ramesh Sippy’s film ‘Bhrastachar’ which co-starred Mithun Chakraborty and Rekha. She has also been a part of television shows like Ek Mutthi Aasmaan, Silsila Pyaar Ka, and Savitri Devi College & Hospital. The actor was later seen in some hit films including ‘Khuda Gawah’, ‘Aankhen’, ‘Pehchaan’, ‘Gopi Kishan’, ‘Bewafa Sanam’ and ‘Mrityudand’.

Shirodkar last appeared in the movie ‘Gaja Gamini’ in the year 2000 as she decided to quit acting after her marriage with UK based banker Aparesh Ranjit. The actor later shot for Sekhar Suri's Guns of Banaras in 2014 but the release was delayed to 2020. However, after a break of 13 years, the actress made her comeback on Television with Zee TV’s show ‘Ek Mutthi Aasmaan’.

Shilpa Shirodkar is the younger sister of Namrata Shirodkar and the daughter of Marathi actress Gangu Bai.

Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan declared that the country had done well by developing vaccines in a short time. Additionally, he also said that the vaccine would be available to all the countrymen in the next few days. However, vaccination priority remains first for the healthcare professionals and frontline workers of the country.
