Renowned celebrity stylist Sanam Ratansi, sister to actor Zaheer Iqbal, has made a significant mark in the world of fashion and film. Known for her work on films such as Fitoor, The Girl on the Train, and Malaal, Sanam has earned a reputation for transforming celebrities’ style aesthetics.
Who Is Sanam Ratansi?
Sanam’s journey into the world of styling began with her passion and a little bit of luck. She started her career working with the acclaimed stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania at Style Cell, a prominent styling company. "I was very keen to get into styling but didn’t know how it worked or know any stylists in the industry," Sanam said in an interview.
A friend introduced her to Adajania while she was styling Deepika Padukone for a brand advertisement. Sanam’s brief conversation with Anaita led to an invitation to stay and observe the shoot, which became the stepping stone to her successful career.
Her first major project was assisting Anaita on the film Ra-One, where she styled Shah Rukh Khan. This experience opened the floodgates to a series of projects, each one helping her build her portfolio and reputation.
Sanam’s client list is impressive, featuring Bollywood heavyweights like Saif Ali Khan, Alaya F., Zaheer Iqbal, and Aditi Rao Hydari. Sanam also styles actor Sonakshi Sinha, who is soon to be her sister-in-law, as Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are reportedly set to tie the knot soon.
Her approach to styling is to highlight each celebrity's individual personality through their outfits. She works closely with her clients to ensure that their style is both unique and reflective of who they are.
Moreover, Sanam is the daughter of Iqbal Ratnasi, a prominent Indian businessman and jeweller. Ratnasi has established himself as a successful entrepreneur, having ventures in the construction and real estate sectors, as well as owning a jewellery business.
