Raashi Khanna: South film actor Raashi Khanna is back in the news when Shahid Kapoor announced that she will star opposite him in the upcoming web series directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK.

In an Instagram story, Shahid shared a selfie with his co-star and captioned, "Welcome on board. And thanks for letting me be a part of your selfie. I feel blessed."

The shooting of the unnamed web series has already started in Goa. Raashi is also there right now and posted gorgeous photos of herself in an olive green swimsuit on Instagram. In the first post of the series, she captioned, "Sunshine, poolside, downtime! #lifeisgood #goa." Furthermore, she also thanked her trainers in one of the posts for helping her with working out.

Here are 10 things to know about Raashi Khanna:

1. Raashi Khanna was born on 30 November 1990. She grew up in New Delhi and did her schooling at St. Mark's Senior Secondary Public School. She completed her graduation in English at Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University.
2. As stated by Raashi herself, she was an academic topper and was studious during her school and college days. She aspired to become a singer but was eventually drawn towards becoming an IAS officer.
3. In fact, she said that she was never interested in modelling or acting and never thought of becoming an actor. She worked as a copywriter for advertisements before she made her entry into acting. Raashi acted in a number of advertisements for Dominos, Tata Sky, Tanishq prior to working in movies.
4. She made her acting debut in Bollywood in 2013 with the critically and commercially acclaimed political spy thriller Madras Cafe directed by Shoojit Sircar. Raashi played the role of the wife of an Indian intelligence officer portrayed by John Abraham.
5. After her debut in Bollywood, she has been predominantly working in the Southern film industry, where she is a household name.
6. She made her Telugu debut in actor Srinivas Avasarala's directorial debut Oohalu Gusagusalade, which also featured himself and Naga Shaurya in the lead roles. However, she appeared in a small role in the Telugu film Manam before the release of the other movie.
7. For her next movie Joru in 2014,  she sang a song. Since then, she has sung a number of songs in movies like Villain, Balakrishnudu, Jawaan, Oorantha Anukuntunnaru and Prati Roju Pandage.
8. After Joru, she appeared in many commercially successful films like Bengal Tiger, Supreme, Jai Lava Kusa, Tholi Prema, Imaikkaa Nodigal, Venky Mama, Prati Roju Pandage and many more. Consequently, she established herself as one of the most popular actresses in the Telugu and Tamil film industries.
9. Raashi once stated that Priyanka Chopra is her biggest inspiration in life. Furthermore, she lived with Bollywood actor Vaani Kapoor in the same room in Mumbai. Interestingly, both of them made their debut in 2013.

Other than the unnamed OTT project, Raashi's upcoming projects are Tamil films, i.e.  Aranmanai 3 alongside Arya, Methavi opposite Jiiva and Tughlaq Durbar opposite Vijay Sethupathi. She is also shooting for the Malayalam remake of the 2018 Hindi blockbuster Andhadhun, titled as Bhramam, opposite Prithviraj Sukumaran.
