The documentary features testimony from Ghosn's colleagues and people who knew him up close. He saved Renault and Nissan from bankruptcy in 1996 and 1999 respectively and contributed majorly to modifying the automotive manufacturing market during the 90s. In 2018, he was arrested in Tokyo with regard to financial misconduct. During this time, one person who stood by his side and campaigned around the world for his freedom was his wife, Carole Ghosn.

Who Is Carole Ghosn?
Carole Nahas is a Lebanese entrepreneur and philanthropist who was the head of a high-end caftan company that she founded in the 2000s. Born in Beirut in 1966, she is an American citizen and spent most of her life in the US. She was earlier married to Lebanese banker Marwan Marshi and had three children with him. She allegedly had an affair with Carlos Ghosn while he was married to his first wife Rita Ghosn.
The couple got married in 2016 and threw a lavish Marie-Antoinette-themed party for around 120 guests at the Palace of Versailles to celebrate their union as well as Carole Ghosn's 50th birthday. The alliance made Carlos Ghosn popular in the European circuit and the couple made frequent public appearances like at the 2016 Summer Olympics and Cannes Film Festival.
It is believed that the Marie-Antoinette-themed wedding party was the one that raised questions about Ghosn's wealth. In 2018, he was found guilty of misusing Nissan's assets and under-reporting his salary and was arrested in Tokyo in November 2018.
Carole Ghosn was also announced as wanted by Japanese authorities. She was not with Ghosn when he was arrested but she did all she could to free him. She approached French President Emmanuel Macron and even got in touch with the White House to help her husband. Carole Ghosn was alleged of helping Carlos Ghosn escape from Japan during his bail by locking himself in an instrument box and being transported to Lebanon on a private jet. She is reportedly living with Carlos Ghosn in Lebanon.
