Who is Anya Chalotra: The second season of Netflix's successful series The Witcher began streaming earlier this week, opening to rave reviews from fans thrilled to see lead stars Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra back on screen. A fantasy drama, it draws inspiration from a book series of the same name and is premised on themes of adventure and action.
Chalotra plays the character of Yennefer of Vengerberg, an elf-sorceress, on The Witcher. The second season of the show picks up from where season one left off at the Battle of Sodden Hill. Fans have had a long two-year wait to see what happens in the aftermath of the battle that changed lives.
Geralt of Rivia, the lead played by Cavill whose story the series follows closely, thinks Yennefer is dead after battling the Nilfgaardian army. She disappears at the end of the battle in season one, her fate virtually unknown.
However, as told by the show's makers, Yennefer's character is set to take predominance like never before and season two will explore her arc, as well as that of lead Ciri, the crown princess played by Freya Allan, in a big way.
