Specially those who take the road not taken and indulge in the unconventional. 69-year-old Rajini Chandy, posted photos of a photoshoot recently. Athira Roy conceived and planned the photoshoot, BBC reports. As turns of events show, she was unsparingly trolled for it. Ageist and sexist comments bombarded her post.

These comments have mostly come from women. Chandy responded to them saying "I was called a slut. Another suggested that I 'sit at home and read the Bible. This is your age to pray, not show off your body'. Yet another person said I was an old auto rickshaw and even if I got a new coat of paint, I'd still be old."

1. Who is Rajini Chandy?

Rajini Chandy was born in Alwaye, Kochi, India, to a Malayalam speaking Christian family on 18 July 1951. As of 2021, the age of Rajini Chandy is 69. She graduated at Thodupuzha, Kerala, at St. Sebastian's High School.

2. What did she do before acting?

She used to work in a real estate company before this. The former ran a gym for elderly people before beginning her career in acting. After her gym shut down, she taught 10th class mathematics to children from underprivileged sections. She mastered NCFM and helped her husband with stock market.

She auditioned for a part in Oru Muthassai Gadha (2016) after seeing an advertisement for the same. She earned her breakthrough in the film industry.
