Actor Aaditi Pohankar essays the role of Pammi is a popular MX player web series named Ashram. The series is a crime drama directed by Prakash Jha and has popular names such as Bobby Deol, Tridha Choudhury, Anupriya Goenka and Adhyayan Suman.
The show recently courted controversy when a Jodhpur court earlier on December 14 issued a notice to actor Bobby Deol and producer Prakash Jha in connection with a case filed against the web series Aashram. The matter is slated for further hearing on January 11, 2021.
Playing Pammi
In her role as Pammi, Pohankar portrays a young wrestler who is strong-willed and knows how to fight for herself. In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Times, Pahankar talked about how the director gave her freedom to mould Pammi's character. She also talked about how female athletes face discrimination.
"Obviously, boys are faster than girls no doubt, but what I feel is that more than just discrimination, there is acceptance of the discrimination," she said.
According to Pohankar, her acting career was never planned. She speaks about looking forward to participating in the Commonwealth Games and Olympics as a runner. Pohankar's inclination towards sports comes from her parents who were both sportspersons. Her mother Shobha Pohankar was a national-level hockey player while her father was a marathon runner. Her family is also filled with musicians. Her grandmother Susheela Pohankar was a classical singer and her uncle Ajay Pohankar is also following the same musical path.

Aaditi Pohankar made her debut in the iconic Hindi film Love Sex Aur Dhoka and since then she has few roles but most of them have brought her fame. She was also cast against Riteish Deshmukh in a popular Marathi film Lai Bhaari. This year, Pohankar has worked in two web series. One being Prakash Jha's Ashram and other one streaming on Netflix named She. Aaditi was also trolled recently for allegedly not paying her stylist.
