Marilyn Monroe remains among America's most celebrated movie icons as her legacy continues to live on through her famous films and photographs. Though her fame was not just limited to movies. The speculations around her alleged affairs including baseball star Joe DiMaggio, playwright Arthur Miller and President John F. Kennedy also amassed her popularity among various controversies.
Monroe passed away at the young age of 36 at her home due to what appeared to be a self-induced drug overdose. Netflix's upcoming documentary film The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes attempts to unveil her mysterious death as it traces her journey through suspicious weeks leading to her death. The upcoming documentary film is executively produced by Chris Smith and attempts to bring together all the secrets she had while solving the mystery behind her death in order to seek justice.
Marilyn Monroe was found dead in 1962 and her case had been reopened in 1992. The documentary features the several unheard interviews from the 1992 investigation. A commentator in the trailer mentioned, "Marilyn and the truth, it’s like getting into the lion’s den and I indeed found out things which had not been found out before."
Another documentary film Marilyn, Her Final Secret, revolving around the late star is in the works which attempts to resolve the mystery around her biological father. Variety earlier revealed that Label News wrapped up the film's production. The documentary follows the desperate search of Monroe in order to find her biological father and her attempts to connect with him. Director Francois Pomes mentioned, "The hair that we used from Monroe was collected by the person who embalmed her body the day she died and we were able to draw up 22% of her genetic profile from that thanks to a DNA fragment found in the keratin."
