The series was released on Netflix on December 18, 2020, and is based on the Naver webtoon (Webtoon is a South Korean online publisher famous for webtoons, which are small internet comics popular in South Korea) of the same name by Kim Carnby and Hwang Young-chan, which has over 2.1 billion net views.

Sweet Home Plot:

High school student Cha Hyun-Su (Song Kang) is an introverted person who spends much of his time alone in his room. He won't speak to his parents or younger sister. His entire family died in a car accident one day, except for him. Cha Hyun-Su is the last one remaining. He downsizes his living quarters. A strange phenomenon of humans transforming into monsters is occurring all throughout the world at this time. Pyeon Sang-Wook (Lee Jin-Wook) and the other occupants of Cha Hyun Apartment Su's building fight these creatures and struggle to stay alive.

Sweet Home Cast: 

Song Kang portrays Cha Hyun-soo, Lee Jin-wook portrays Pyeon Sang-wook, Lee Si-young portrays Seo Yi-kyung, Lee Do-hyun portrays Lee Eun-hyuk, Kim Nam-hee portrays Jung Jae-heon, Go Min-si portrays Lee Eun-yoo, and Park Gyu-young portrays Yoon Ji-soo.

The protagonist of the series is Cha Hyun Soo, a high school student. Hyun Soo is played by Song Kang in the film. Lee JinWook as "former detective"; Lee SiYoung as "former special operative" ; Lee DoHyun as "brainiac"; Park GyuYoung as "musician"; Go Min-Si as Eun Lee, Lee EunHuk's younger sister; Kim NamGee as Korean language professor Jeong JaeHeon; Kim KapSoo as terminally ill Kim KapSo.

Season 2 of Sweet Home will be produced by Netflix, but "nothing has been decided," according to the company. Sweet Home has been available on Netflix for several months, and rumours about the K-drama have circulated during that period.

Netflix has not set a release date for the second season of Sweet Home. It's possible that fans will have to wait a long time for Sweet Home to return to Netflix. Season 1 was shot over the course of eight months, from June 2019 until February 2020. If the rumours are true and filming doesn't start until December 2021, viewers may have to wait until early 2023 for season 2.
