On Saturday, the streaming service SonyLiv released the trailer for the second season of the political drama Maharani. In her conflict with her husband and predecessor Bheema Bharti (Sohum Shah), the lead character Rani Bharti (Huma Qureshi) was first seen in the teaser. The first season of the programme premiered in 2020 to mixed reviews, however, critics complimented Huma Qureshi's acting.
Bheema Bharti, the former chief minister, emerges from prison in the teaser sporting a new beard. He uses his mobile phone that is kept next to the microphone to address political rallies remotely. He blames his wife Rani for his current situation. Then he tells his followers that he would not accept this and that Rani may expect a hard battle. Rani is then seen getting into her car as the action switches to her.
