When Is Indian Matchmaking Season 2 Coming Out?

Indian Matchmaking season 2 release date is something that we all are waiting for eagerly. The popular Netflix documentary will soon be back to grace our screens with bringing together new individuals and making them a couple.

The Emmy nominated Netflix documentary television series Indian Matchmaking's season 1 became quite popular when it came out in 2020. The show followed marriage consultant Sima Taparia who took it upon herself to find the perfect match for individuals considering their choices and requirements. The show's cast also included Aparna Shewakramani, Pradhyuman Maloo, Akshay Jakhete, Ankita Bansal, Vyasar Ganesan and Nadia Christina Jagessar. The show was renewed for a second season in 2021 that will soon be airing on OTT platform Netflix.

Indian Matchmaking Season 2 Release Date

The Emmy nominated show was criticised when it came out because of its cringe-worthy content including casteist, sexism and colourist remarks on people. However, the show, in a way, revealed the true face of the Indian society and its expectations when it comes to marriage. We cannot deny the fact that marriages in Indian society are highly influenced by the caste, financial status and physical appearances of people and come up with some really ridiculous demands from their prospective partners.

The matchmaker Sima Taparia and Smriti Mundhra's produced show garnered the attention of the viewers for reasons, both good and bad. From meme-worthy moments to Sima trash talking about the individuals, we saw many faces of the judgemental Indian society and found the typical desi aunty in Sima Taparia's behaviour and mannerism.

The show that was renewed for a season 2 is expected to come out sometime in 2022. Although Netflix and makers have announced the season under progress, they haven't yet updated the audience on when can we expect it to air.
