When Is Firefly Lane Season 2 Coming Out ?

American drama series Firefly Lane is based on Kristin Hannah’s novel by the same name. The show is created by Maggie Friedman and follows the story of two friends who support each other through thick and thin. Firefly Lane cast includes actors Ali Skovbye, Roan Curtis, and Yael Yurman among others.

Firefly Lane discusses the story of adolescent friends Kate and Tully who share an unbreakable bond for thirty years, even as they reach their forties despite their differing personalities. The show is featured on OTT platform Netflix and is produced by Aaron Au along with production companies Stephanie Germain Productions and Curly Girly Productions.

Firefly Lane also features Katherine Heigl as adult Tully Hart and Sarah Chalke as adult Kate Mularkey. Actors Ben Lawson, Jon Michael-Ecker, Brenden Taylor and Beau Garrett are also seen in the American drama.

The show had been renewed by Netflix earlier in May 2021. “We don’t have all the answers yet, but trust us, it’s going to be worth the wait,” said Heigl and Chalke in a Netflix YouTube video.

The end of Firefly Lane season 1 left the fans with many questions about the fate of several character and their relationships which are expected to be answered in the next season of the show.

Expected Cast

All the core cast members of Firefly Lane are expected to return in Season 2 including Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke. Actors Ali Skovbye and Roan Curtis who play young young Tully and Kate respectively also took to Instagram celebrating the announcement of the second season which points that the two are expected to be seen in the new season as well.

However, there is still ambiguity on the return of Kate’s ex-husband Johnny Ryan, played by Ben Lawson, since he was involved in an attack in Iraq on the show.

In September 2021, Netflix announced four new additions to the cast of Firefly Lane including India De Beaufort as Charlotte, Gregg Germann as Benedict Binswanger, Jolene Purdy as Justine Jordon and Ignacio Serricchio as Danny Diaz.

Firefly Lane Season 2 Release Date

According to reports, the show started filming for its next season at the end of August 2021 and might continue until April 2022. Netflix has confirmed that the next season will return in 2022 but Firefly Lane Season 2 release date hasn’t been announced yet.
