The first look of We Are Lady Parts was revealed by NBCUniversal streaming sites Channel 4 and Peacock on Wednesday. The comedy series has been written and directed by Nida Manzoor.

The series was will be available to stream on Peacock original in the US. It was first commissioned by Channel 4 in 2019 as the pilot episode was released by Comedy Blaps. The premiere date of the series was not disclosed.
The Plot
The series is based on a Muslim punk band named Lady Parts. The girls in the band are looking for a lead guitarist and Saira, the band's leader finds one in Amina, a PhD student. Amina's desire to find a husband catches Saira's attention as she offers her to play for the band in exchange for hook-up dates. Amina eventually becomes part of the band despite the opposition faced by other members of the band.

There are five female leads in the series. Amina the guitarist played by Anjana Vasan, Ayesha the drummer played by Juliette Motamed, Bisma the base player played by Faith Omale, Saira the bandleader played by Sarah Impey and Momtaz the manager played by Lucie Shorthouse. All the actors in the series have had film credits in British TV and films. The characters while being part of the band also have a different life outside of the band. One works at a butcher's shop, another drives cabs, works at a bra shop and another is a cartoonist.
The series has original punk songs and cover tracks and the characters are often seen discussing what is "unfeminist". The producers of the series are NBCU's Working Title Television while the executive producers are Surian Fletcher-Jones, Tim Bevan Mark Freeland and Eric Fellner. It has also been bankrolled by John Pocock. The series will be globally represented by NBCUniversal Global Distribution.
