Watch Shershaah online: Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani's film Shershaah is now available for streaming. Directed by Vishnuvardhan, the film is based on the life of Kargil War martyr Captain Vikram Batra. While the film was initially supposed to have a theatrical release, its makers opted for a digital one instead, owing to COVID-19 pandemic.

Shershaah's release comes just a day ahead of another war film, Bhuj: The Pride Of India, which will be available for streaming from August 13. While Shershaah capture the Indo-Pak war of 1999, Bhuj: The Pride Of India, featuring Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt and Nora Fatehi, is about the 1971 attack on the Bhuj airbase by Pakistan's air force.
Shershaah gets its name from Captain Batra's code name in the army. It is said that even the Pakistani army was aware of this code name, as they were using the same radio frequency as the Indian soldiers during the war. In an interview prior to his death, Captain Batra had revealed, "He said ‘Shershaah, you have come? Don’t try to come up otherwise you will have a tough time. And that was a time they gave us a challenge, and my guys, they went wild that how dare a Pakistani troop challenge us?'” The 24-year-old braveheart was felicitated with India's highest military honour- Param Vir Chakra, posthumously.
Cast of Shershaah
While Sidharth Malhotra will be seen playing the titular character in the film, Kiara Advani will be seen as Batra's fiancé, Dimple Cheema. The film also features actors Shataf Figar, Shiv Panditt, Sahil Vaid, Pawan Chopra, Anil Charanjeett, Nikitin Dheer, Pranay Pachauri and Raj Arjun in key roles.

Shershaah is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Anyone with a valid subscription of the platform can now watch it anytime on the OTT platform.
