The trailer of Vijay Deverakonda's Bollywood debut film Liger is out. Starring Ananya Panday, Ramya Krishnan and Mike Tyson in a cameo appearance, the trailer introduces him as a crossbreed between a lion and a tiger. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, best known for helming projects like iSmart Shankar and Pokiri, Liger was delayed due to the pandemic but is now finally releasing on August 25.
Written and directed by Puri Jagannadh, Liger has been simultaneously filmed in Hindi and Telugu. Co-produced by Karan Johar, the film also stars Ronit Roy and Makarand Deshpande in supporting roles.

Chiranjeevi, alongside Prabhas, launched the Telugu trailer, Dulquer Salmaan unveiled the Malayalam and Ranveer Singh released the Hindi the film's trailer on their respective social media handles.
Liger trailer shows Deverakonda, a kickboxer who has a speech impairment and gets embroiled in multiple gangster fights. While Panday plays his love interest, Krishnan plays Deverakonda's mother in the film. The highlight of the clip, however, is boxing legend Mike Tyson, who seems to be starring in a negative role.
The first song of Liger was released last month, titled 'Akdi Pakdi'. The fast-paced track has the duo matching steps, giving the audience a glimpse of their love story.
Earlier this month, Deverakonda had spoken about how drained the film had left him. He’d written in a social media post, “A film that took my everything. As a performance, mentally, and physically my most challenging role. I give you everything!"
Meanwhile, Deverakonda shot to fame with his Telugu films Arjun Reddy, Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. Panday, who made her film debut in 2019 with Student of the Year 2, has starred in films such as Khali Peeli, Gehraiyaan and Pati, Patni Aur Woh.
