Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest film, Gangubai Kathiawadi, will finally hit theatres after many delays. Due to COVID-19, the Alia Bhatt starrer has been postponed a few times, but the makers have finally stated that the film will be released in theatres on February 25.

Alia Bhatt was recently in Berlin, Germany, for the Berlin Film Festival's premiere of her upcoming film, Gangubai Kathiawadi. Following the premiere of her film, the actor will participate in a question-and-answer session.

At the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival, Gangubai Kathiawadi made its global premiere in the Berlinale Speciale Gala Section. Highway, Alia Bhatt's 2014 film, and Gully Boy, Alia Bhatt's 2019 film, both had their international premieres at the Berlin Film Festival.

Imtiaz Ali directed the film Highway, which also stars Randeep Hooda in a prominent role. The film had its world premiere at the 2014 Berlin International Film Festival's Panorama section. Gully Boy, on the other hand, was directed by Zoya Akhtar and starred Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the key parts. Gully Boy had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2019. It was also chosen as India's entry for the 92nd Academy Awards' Best International Feature Film category, although it was not nominated.

Where To Watch Gangubai Kathiawadi Online?

Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on the true story of Gangubai Harjivandas, also known as Gangubai Kothewali, whose life was chronicled in S. Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The film will chronicle Gangubai's life as she establishes her own territory and rises to become a powerful woman in Kamathipura's red light district. In cameo appearances, Ajay Devgn and Huma Qureshi will appear in the film. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, a well-known director, directed the picture, which will be released in theatres on February 25, 2022.

Due to production problems, Gangubai Kathiawadi was pushed back from its original July 30 release date. After rumours that Gangubai Kathiawadi would be released digitally, its production house, PEN India Ltd, finally announced that the film would be released in theatres.

Although there is no official word on when its OTT rights will be sold or when it will be released digitally. Fans can still hope for an OTT release as the film 83 also sold its movie's rights to two OTT platforms for online streaming, Netflix and Disney Plus Hotstar, shortly after its theatrical release.
