The series is a fictional medical drama that is set at the backdrop of the 26/11 terror attack on Mumbai stars Konkona Sensharma, Mohit Raina, Tina Desai and Shreya Dhanwanthary, Satyajeet Dubey, Natasha Bharadwaj and several others. It explores how the night unfolded from the viewpoint of the medical fraternity the doctors, nurses in a government hospital, and first responders such as paramedics and hospital staff. How they had to work tirelessly to save lives. The makers released a web poster earlier reading, "Whatever it took, they stood tall and united! #MumbaiDiariesOnPrime, new series, sept 9 (sic)."
Mohit Raina will be seen in the role of a senior doctor at the hospital. He has to work with a handful of trainees on the fateful night of the terror attacks. Together they have to attend to those injured, in the gunfire at the Gateway of India and several other places in the city. Konkona Sensharma will be seen as Chitra Das in the show. She is the social services director of the government hospital where the story unfolds. Director Nikhil Advani had said the show explores a different perspective to the night of 26/11 which hasn’t been explored on-screen so far.
Advani on working with Sensharma said, "When she said ‘yes’ for the show, I got nervous and I rewrote portions of her role to make it even more challenging for her because she is such a phenomenal actor," in an exclusive interview to Outlook.
Mumbai Diaries 26/11 is directed by Nikkhil Advani and Nikhil Gonsalves and will have eight episodes. It will be available on Amazon Prime Video from September 9th. You can watch the teaser of the show here:
