Anushka Sharma fundraiser for COVID-19 relief raises 3.6 crores: Actor-producer Anushka Sharma with husband Virat Kohli had launched a fundraiser called ‘In This Together' for COVID-19 relief on May 7. Within just 24 hours, the fundraiser managed to raise Rs 3.6 crore in donations. Sharma took to her social media platforms to share the news and said that they were "overwhelmed with the response".
Kohli and Sharma had taken to social media on Friday and introduced their new initiative, which aims to raise a total of Rs seven crore. The Zero actor shared that the fundraiser had already crossed its halfway mark, saying she was grateful to everyone who had donated so far.

On Saturday, the Indian cricket team captain too took to Twitter to share that he was overwhelmed with the response to this campaign. "Let’s keep fighting to meet our target and help the country," he added.

The couple donated Rs 2 crore for COVID-19 relief in the country. Kohli and Sharma said in a video posted on their social media accounts on Friday that all of us are fighting the pandemic together but people can do better. "It really pains us to see our country suffer like this. We are grateful to all the people who have been fighting for us day and night. Their dedication is appreciated," they added. "But, now, they need our support and we must stand by their side," they urged requesting everyone to join this initiative, which according to its website is a "social change movement for the start-up ecosystem in India", and donate. "Every little bit makes a difference," the couple insisted.
