Vidya Balan transformation in Sherni: Bollywood actors have been making headlines because of the tremendous transformations they have to undergo to fit into the role they are essaying on-screen. From watching out what their diets to working on their diction they have to work really hard.
Recently, Huma Qureshi and Kangana Ranaut grabbed the headlines for their on-screen transformation. Now, Sherni producer Vikram Malhotra said that Vidya Balan has always molded herself to fit into the character. “There was never anyone else but Vidya for us for Sherni,” he added.
In the upcoming film, we see Vidya Balan playing the role of a female Forest Officer in search of a wild tigress. Away from the glitz and the glam, Balan portrays the role of an officer who is disciplined and quick-witted. Balan also reportedly met a real life forest officer to prepare for her role.
Being a female officer in a male-dominated sphere puts Balan's character to a lot of scrutiny and criticism. In the trailer, some people can be seen constantly belittling the officer’s work and achievements because of her gender. At the beginning of the trailer, one of the male characters says, “When there’s a problem here and they have sent a lady officer,” expressing evident discontent.
In Sherni the female police officer who is on a mission to find an endangered animal is also much like the tigress herself, as they both struggle to survive and fight for their respective territories. The film is gearing up for its release on June 18 on Amazon Prime Video.
Earlier, in the trailer for Thalaivi, Ranaut was seen in the role of the actor-turned-politician J Jayalalithaa her transformation is greatly appreciated by netizens. And in another show Maharani, Qureshi was seen playing the role of an illiterate housewife from Bihar who becomes the Chief Minister.
