Vidya Balan Announces New Film: Actor Vidya Balan announced her next project with an Instagram post on November 11. Directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta, the film is a "charming drama-comedy about modern relationships".
Apart from Balan, the film will also feature Scam 1992 star Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D'Cruz and American actor Sendhil Ramamurthy, best known for his role in the NBC superhero series Heroes.
Sharing the announcement about her next project, Balan wrote that she was stoked about it. She added that the film could be either your story or the story of your friend. "It will make you laugh and cry in equal measure and I’m enjoying playing Kavya to the hilt."
While the film's title hasn't been revealed yet, Balan wrote that viewers will get to know about it soon. "Can’t wait for you’ll to watch it next year! And wait for an announcement on the title soon!"
In its press release, Applause Entertainment called the film's cast eclectic and electrifying. Sameer Nair, CEO of the production company said, "The film is a sparkling, sophisticated romance that subverts all notions of love and fidelity in modern times. While alchemy best describes the coming together of this incredible cast, we’re thrilled to collaborate with Shirsha Guha Thakurta, rwho has an extraordinarily perceptive understanding of human relationships." He further added that the production house was also excited to partner with Ellipsis once again, to bring this witty, charming, and passionate story to life.
According to Thakurta, when she first heard this story, she was instantly attracted to its universe — honest, funny, and so today. "The actors have been a dream to work with. Their generosity is something I will always cherish," she further said, adding that she is nervous, but this journey so far has been truly special.
