Vicky Kaushal recently shared insights into his early days of dating Katrina Kaif. Initially, he found it hard to believe that Kaif was interested in him, but as they got to know each other, he eventually fell in love. Both of them realised that their relationship was evolving into something serious and long-lasting, culminating in their eventual marriage.
During a recent appearance on We Are Yuvaa's Be A Man Yaar episode, Vicky Kaushal opened up about his courtship with Katrina Kaif. He mentioned that he initially struggled to believe that he could win her over, but those external factors were not the reasons he fell in love with her. As he got to know her as a person, he fell deeply in love, realising that he wanted her to be his life partner.
Awkward Beginnings To A Heartfelt Affection
At first, he felt a bit awkward receiving attention from her and wondered if everything was alright. He said, “First, I used to feel odd getting attention from her. I used to be like ‘Heh? Are you okay?’” However, he clarified that their mutual attention and connection went beyond superficialities, as he initially saw her as a phenomenon but later appreciated her human side as well.
"At the beginning, I definitely had moments where I wondered, 'Why me?' (initially, I used to question too)," He remarked while discussing their early days. He then went on to shower praise on his wife, saying, "She is a wonderful human being, very compassionate towards people and the environment, and that quality is a huge turn-on for me, always."
A Seamless Start And Marriage
Regarding how their relationship began, he revealed that he asked her out for dinner via text. However, when it came to the prospect of marriage, he explained, "During our courtship, it didn't reach a point where it was a suspenseful moment of asking her for marriage, not knowing whether it would be a yes or no. Right from the start, we understood that our relationship was incredibly serious. We were both in it with the intention of finding something permanent."
The actor also mentioned that for them, marriage wasn't a question but rather a discussion, and they decided to take the next step in their relationship spontaneously. When it comes to what Kaif appreciates most about him, he explained that she admires his values and his unwavering commitment to them. He also emphasised that his greatest desire is to see his wife happy.
The actors kept their relationship hidden from the public for a considerable period of time. While they never officially confirmed their relationship, they chose to make it public by sharing their wedding pictures on Instagram. Their private yet extravagant wedding took place on December 9, 2021, at Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan.
