Veteran Actor Tabassum Says She Is Fine And Healthy, Dismisses Rumour Of Her Death

Actor Tabassum: Famous television host and veteran actor Tabassum Govil dismissed rumours of her death on Friday. She tweeted that she is fine, healthy and is with her family.

Some social media users started to circulate pictures of Tabassum on April 23 and claimed that the actor has succumbed to death. They even posted tweets wishing her soul to rest in peace. This made Tabassum herself address her fans and followers and inform them about her wellbeing.

She took to Twitter and called the news of her death fake. In her caption, she wrote in Hindi, "Aapki shubhkamnaon ki wajah se main bilkul theek hoon,tandurust hoon aur apne parivaar ke saath hoon."(I am fine, healthy and with my family because of your good wishes)

Tabassum,76, had recently tested positive for COVID-19 and was also admitted to the hospital. Her son, Hoshang Govil told the news agency that she had recovered and was later discharged from the hospital. He had also posted a picture of his mother coming out of a hospital in a wheelchair.

He added that the family was very careful and nobody was allowed to enter their premises but his mother still got infected.

" But thankfully she is better now," he added. He had said that the family would release a message to Tabassum's fans soon. Govil dismissed another rumour doing rounds about his mother. He was asked if Tabassum has Alzheimer's disease. He replied, "I am disgusted. How can people spread her picture and start a rumour that she has Alzheimer's? She has no underlining disease. This is fake news and absolutely disrespectful." He clarified further that his mother doesn't have heart disease nor diabetes.

Tabassum is known for Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan, a talk show hosted by her on Doordarshan and Abhi To Main Jawan Hoon. Before taking over the television industry at one point in history, Tabassum was a well-known actor. She started young as a child artist in 1951.
