Actor Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli's daughter Vamika has remained away from the limelight. This decision to keep her face away from the public and social media was taken by her parents early on. But yesterday, during a match against South Africa, a sports channel gave away a glimpse of Vamika.
Many people on social media have taken a screenshot of her picture and circulated it on social media calling her 'mini Virat.' While the staunch followers of the couple have opposed this and said that it breaches Sharma and Kohli's desire of news media and broadcasters not showing their daughter's face.
The couple had requested the paparazzi to not click Vamika's pictures since her birth as they wanted to maintain privacy. But despite all this, the broadcast videos showed Anushka Sharma holding Vamika in her arms while cheering Kohli from the VIP lounge of the stadium during the India v/s South Africa match on January 23.

The pictures from this broadcast have been circulated wildly on social media by people who were eagerly waiting for Vamika's first glimpse. Since her birth, both Sharma and Kohli have been careful to never reveal her face on their social media posts. The one-year-old Vamika's birthday recently went past and even then, the couple did not reveal her face once.
The official statement by the couple given stated, "We have decided as a couple to not expose our child to social media before she has an understanding of what social media is and can make her own choice."

Recently, Sharma had posted a thank you not on her Instagram feed thanking media to have taken care of this wish and not published any pictures of Vamika. "We are deeply thankful to the Indian paparazzi and most of the media fraternity for not publishing pictures/videos of Vamika. As parents, our request to the few who carried the images and video will be to support us going forward. We seek privacy for our child and would like to do our best to give her a chance to live her life freely away from media and social media. As she is older we cannot restrict her movement and hence your support is needed so kindly practice restraint in the matter. A special thank you to fan clubs and people on the internet for going out of your way to not post images. It was kind and highly mature of you," read her post.
