Urmila Matondkar Comeback: Urmila Matondkar shared the good news with her fans that she is planning to return to the films. The actor-politician revealed that she had signed a web show, but couldn't start working on it because the lockdown due to coronavirus came in place.
In a recent interview with ETimes, the actor revealed that she is planning her comeback in the films and the project she will take up is going to be exciting. Matondkar was last seen in 2018 in a song release of Blackmail, whereas her last full-fledged role was in her Marathi debut film Ajoba in 2014.
“I was going to be a part of a web series last April, and I absolutely loved that script. We even scheduled the dates, but due to the lockdown, it was pushed ahead,” said Matondkar. She further said that the project is currently stuck due to some permission issues, but she is waiting to see what's next for her. Although the actor has no idea if the project will take off, she is positive and looking forward to it. “It would have been something great. I was really looking forward to it,” she stated.
Matondkar further said that when she looks back at her career, she feels that she had a versatile one. The actor says that she does not want to do anything just for the sake of it, and that is why she is waiting for the digital project. "But I am sure that if not that, then something else which is great will come up,” the actor said. She also revealed that her fans will be able to see her back on the silver screen as she has promised herself that whatever project she takes on next, will not only be exciting for her but for her fans as well, as she believes that it doesn’t make sense to be a part of something mundane.
Matondkar is well-known for her performances in movies like Rangeela, Judaai, Satya, Khoobsurat, and Jungle. She has also ventured into Telugu and Tamil cinema with films like Antham, Gaayam, Indian, and Anaganaga Oka Roju.
Matondkar joined the Shiv Sena on December 1, 2021 a year after quitting Congress.
