Five Upcoming Women-centric Hollywood Films To Watch On OTT

Hollywood women-centric releases: The remainder of the year has some pretty good Hollywood women-centric releases to watch out for.

We have somehow managed to make our pandemic lives liveable enough, thanks to Netflix, and other OTT platforms.

These platforms have also made it possible to bring forth good art, and numerous actors and filmmakers in the spotlight.

As for women-centric content, there has been a significant increase in the same, ever since OTT platforms came into being. We started the year with Hollywood women-centric releases such as Malcolm & Marie, Firefly Lane, and we can't wait to binge on more.

Here are some upcoming Hollywood women-centric releases to watch out for:

The Mother 

This Netflix action feature will star Jennifer Lopez in the lead role. She will be portraying a female assassin, who comes out of hiding, in order to protect her daughter, whom she gave up years ago while running away from some dangerous men.

It will be directed by Mulan director Niki Caro. Besides acting, Lopez will also be producing the film, along with Elaine Goldsmith Thomas for Nuyorican Productions, as well as Green, Benny Medina and Roy Lee and Miri Yoon for Vertigo Entertainment.

The Cipher 

Jennifer Lopez will be starring in another film, which is will be an adaptation of the bestselling book “The Cipher.” The film will revolve around an FBI agent, who falls into a serial killer’s cat and mouse chase.

Kate 

This upcoming American action thriller will be released on September 10, 2021. It will tell us the tale of a female assassin, who after being poisoned, goes on a manhunt in the streets of Tokyo. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Woody Harrelson, Michiel Huisman will be playing the lead roles.

Night Teeth

This thriller will tell us about two mysterious women, who are picked up by a chauffeur for a party night in LA. Unfortunately, it becomes too late, when he comes to know about the true nature of the women. The film will star Lucy Fry, Debby Ryan, and Alexander Ludwig among others.

Awake 

This science fiction film comes with an interesting plot, which revolves around how people are unable to sleep. However, there is a girl who can cure their sleepless problem. It will be released on 9 June this year.
