She made this disclosure on her Instagram account, stating that these threats came after she recreated Chota Pandit's character from the movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa, a role originally portrayed by Rajpal Yadav in the 2007 film. This role is among Rajpal Yadav's most renowned and beloved performances.

She additionally posted a picture collage on her Instagram, showcasing her dressed in similar attire to Rajpal Yadav's character from the movie. Her outfit included a red full-sleeve T-shirt, saffron pants, a garland around her neck, and her face painted in red to complete the look.

Sharing the collage, she wrote, "Rajpal Yadav se kisi ko koi problem nahi hua but maine jab ye look recreate liya toh sabko mujhse problem hai. I’ve received so many death threats, rape threats for no reason. All these so-called dharm k rakshak (protector of religion) suddenly woke up after I wore this outfit 10 years of Bhool Bhulaiya movie! No colour belongs to any religion, no agarbatti (incense sticks) belongs to any religion, no flower belongs to any religion."

She expressed that she is just shocked and appalled by this country, getting death threats for recreating a character from a movie, especially when the original character faced no such backlash.

In a recent Instagram post, she shared a video of herself donning the Chhota Pandit look, along with the caption, in which she said she wanted to clarify that she had prepared this look for a Halloween party, but unfortunately, she couldn't attend, so she decided to share the video instead.
