Sequel To Feel Good Anthology On Pandemic "Unpaused" Releasing On This Date

Unpaused Naya Safar Release Date: Since the first lockdown in 2020, life has not stayed the same. Over the past few years, people have lost their loved ones, slipped in and out of worry while being confined to home, and developed empathy. The anthology film Unpaused tapped into our isolation and the need for empathy. Now, as the pandemic enters another phase, this heartwarming anthology is getting a sequel- Unpaused: Naya Safar.

The anthology consists of five segments, directed by filmmakers Nagraj Popatrao Manjule, Nupur Asthana, Ruchir Arun, Ayappa KM and Shikha Makan. It is scheduled to release digitally on January 21 this year. The film is going to stream on the online platform Amazon Prime Videos in India and 240 countries. Each of the five films consists of an ensemble cast.

The sequel will also delve into storylines about the stress and the relatable challenges during the pandemic but will reportedly move towards the feeling of hope, like the light at the end of a dark tunnel.

The sequel to Unpaused features actors like Saqib Saleem, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Neena Kulkarni and Geetanjali Kulkarni.

All about the segments in Unpaused Naya Safar

The sequel will include five short films-Teen Tigada by Ruchir Arun, starring Saqib Saleem and others; The Couple directed by Nupur Asthana, starring Shreya Dhanwanthary and others; Gond Ke Laddu directed by Shikha Makan, starring Neena Kulkarni and others; War Room by Ayappa KM, starring Geetanjali Kulkarni and others; and Vaikunth directed by Nagraj Popatrao Manjule, starring Arjun Karche and others.

The head of India Originals of the Prime Video, Aparna Purohit said, "It's so wonderful to start the journey of our originals this year with Unpaused: Naya Safar, a heart-warming anthology about stories that provide hope, positivity and inspiration in these challenging times. This series is also a reaffirmation of our commitment to providing a platform to compelling and independent cinematic voices of our country."

The first anthology Unpaused contained segments directed by Nidimoru Krishna DK, Nikkhil Advani, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Avinash Arun and Nitya Mehra. It featured actors like Gulshan Devaiah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Saiyami Kher, Rinku Rajguru and Lillete Dubey. Read more about the film here.
