Imagine that after years of hard work, your career suddenly grinds to a complete halt. When faced with an indefinite wait, one has two options: give up or decide to take control of their own destiny. Ekta Sharma, a television actor, belongs to the latter group.
Ekta Sharma made the decision to work at a call centre in order to make ends meet because she did not want to sit around waiting for an acting job. In a recent interview, she revealed, 'I am an educated woman, so instead of staying home and sobbing, I chose to work. I am doing a decent job, and I am proud of it."
Since the pandemic struck, production in the entertainment sector has suffered, with numerous productions being cancelled and series took off the air. Despite the fact that production has picked back up again in recent months, Ekta Sharma is still waiting to hear from casting directors and producers.
Just before the lockdown was declared, her last performance, Bepanah Pyar, had ended. She knew she couldn't wait for a miracle to happen because her debts and costs were mounting. She also had to pay the lawyers because she is battling for her daughter's custody in court. She added, "At first, I sold my jewellery in the hopes that everything would turn out okay. But when it didn't after a year, I made the decision to go out and look for work."

She is grateful that her parents insisted she finish her education so she could get this position, though. She added, "My only motive was that I wanted to live a life of a warrior, not a victim."
The actor continued by saying that she had contacted casting directors and producers but had not received any positive leads. She said that everyone has valuable advice to offer when someone takes extraordinary action or is at their lowest emotional point But while someone is living, nobody really watches out for them.
