On Tuesday, the first visual from Anvitaa Dutt's upcoming musical drama Qala was unveiled. Tripti Dimri plays the title character in the movie, and the original poster features her as a classical musician playing the sitar. Babil, the late actor Irrfan's son, is making his acting debut in the movie, which will be available on Netflix later this year.
On Tuesday morning, the movie's producer, Karnesh Ssharma, and Netflix India both posted the poster to Instagram. The poster features Tripti Dimri as the titular Qala, seated atop a takht while decked in a plain saree, jewellery, and holding a sitar. Karnesh's Clean Slate Filmz is producing Qala, reuniting the production company with Tripti Dimri and Anvitaa Dutt, who previously worked together on the Netflix movie Bulbbul.
Qala, a film written and directed by Anvitaa Dutt and starring Swastika Mukherjee, Amit Sial, and Babil Khan, revolves around the music industry of the 1930s and 1940s.
The makers released a short teaser in September. The teaser was a short music video that includes clips from the entire film. It starts off with Babil Khan's character singing an entrancing melody. It continues with Tripti Dimri and her career as a musician; her character appears to develop from a shy woman to popularity and success. There are videos of her interacting with Swastika Mukherjee, who plays her mother. Amit Sial is also featured. The movie has a dark mystery about the career of a female playback singer and appears to be set in the 1940s.

Given that the musical drama will have Amit Trivedi, Kausar Munir, Amitabh Bhattacharya, and Varun Grover as music composers, the movie is anticipated to have great music.

With dropping the poster today, Ssharma wrote in the caption, "Behind the success of Qala - a gifted musician, was a daughter who just craved her mother's validation. Come explore her world with us. Qala streaming on Netflix, December 1st." The movie's release date on the streaming service Netflix December 1, was also revealed by the poster.
