Trial by Fire Poster Out: Anupam Kher, Abhay Deol's Series To Release Soon

Upcoming limited series Trial By Fire stars actors Abhay Deol, Rajshri Deshpande, Rajesh Tailang, Ashish Vidyarthi, Anupam Kher, Ratna Pathak, Shilpa Shukla and Shardul Bharadwaj. As the series' release date approaches, the makers have unveiled a brand-new poster.

The best-selling book Trial by Fire: The Tragic Tale of the Uphaar Fire Tragedy by Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy served as its inspiration. The plot centres on the tragic incident in June 1997, when a fire broke out at the South Delhi Uphaar Cinema, leaving 59 people dead and 100 injured.

Abhay Deol shared the poster today on Instagram. Endemol Shine India and House of Talkies are the producers of the show.

The actor wrote, "Possibly the hardest role I’ve ever had to portray. I’ve done true stories before but this one has to be the most tragic. A fire that left a trail of tragedies in its wake. Tragedies Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy had to deal with over the two plus decades. Follow their journey in #TrialByFire, trailer out tomorrow only on @netflix_in" The limited series will be available to stream on Netflix beginning January 13, 2023.

Prashant Nair, the show's creator and director, provided additional information, "Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy serve as admirable examples of the kind of tenacity and perseverance required to make even a small difference in this nation. While also considering the other lives affected and destroyed by the fire, what happened to them and the way they were forced to fight for justice is truly horrifying. Unfortunately, there are countless other people today who are also fighting for justice after 24 years." Nair added, " We are grateful to Netflix for being such brave collaborators on this story."

Abhay is renowned for his outstanding performances in movies like Dev D, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local, Raanjhanaa, and many others. His most recent appearance was in the underwhelming comedy Velle, in which he co-starred in with Karan Deol. Rajshri Deshpande, Rajesh Tailang, Ashish Vidyarthi, Anupam Kher, Ratna Pathak, Shilpa Shukla, and Shardul Bharadwaj are also featured in Trial by Fire.
