The United States Of America

The land of dreams, with its Statue of Liberty and Times Square, has always been an attraction for Indians. The USA is representative of the American Dream - the power to do anything you want to. Not to mention the huge population of the Indian diaspora that resides there. New York, the heart of America, especially, features prominently in our films. We grew up watching Priety Zinta walking around New York City in Kal Ho Na Ho. Sridevi also stole hearts when she explored unfamiliar cultures in New York in English Vinglish. However, Bollywood filmmakers didn't leave behind other cities. From the beaches of Miami in Dostana to the fast-paced Chicago life in Dhoom 3, Bollywood gave us destination goals all over the U.S.A.

Old movies of the 70s and 80s would also include song sequences featuring the snow-capped mountains of Switzerland, where the actors would romance each other. Raj Kapoor started Bollywood's love affair with the country, and it was only furthered by Yash Chopra. In fact, travellers in Switzerland can opt for a special tour called "YRF Enchanted Journey".
