Bollywood is known for its charming love stories, and devoted fans of Bollywood romances believe that something is missing from their lives if the protagonist and his lady love in mainstream movies aren't together. However, not every movie. In reality, the majority of well-known Bollywood romances are unhealthy and toxic relationships, and for a long time, Bollywood has glorified unhealthy behaviours in the pretext of love.
A safe relationship is one where we can be ourselves without feeling threatened; one where we feel at ease and secure. On the other hand, a toxic relationship is not a secure place to be in. Insecurity, self-centeredness, dominance, and control define a toxic relationship. Additionally, we've seen a lot of boyfriends in Bollywood movies that showed toxic behaviours like insecurity, possessiveness, and dominating. Also, women are not exempt from being toxic, as evidenced by the Bollywood movies that had toxic female characters who were never called out for it. Here, we've compiled a list of toxic girlfriends from Bollywood films.
Toxic Girlfriends In Bollywood Films:

Chiku from Pyar Ka Punchnama 2
Kartik Aaryan and Nushrratt Bharuccha co-star in the movie Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 as a couple. Bharuccha plays the character of Chiku, who has been spoiled by her female pals and doesn't regard Gogo, who is in love with her and is played by Aaryan. The plot makes it clear that Chiku wants Gogo to serve as her personal delivery boy. Although best friends and friendships are crucial in life, this does not mean that one should start ignoring their partner. Chiku definitely didn't understand how to balance out.
Karishma from Hasee Toh Phasee
The 2014 movie Hasee Toh Phasee stars Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra in the major roles. Malhotra plays Nikhil Bharadwaj and Adah Sharma plays Karishma Solanki. The two are in a relationship and soon to be married to one another. Karishma is a girlfriend who has a habit of threatening to break up with her partner over anything and everything that can irritate her.
Zoya from Raanjhanaa
Sonam Kapoor, Abhay Deol, and Dhanush play the key characters in the 2013 film Raanjhana. While Kundan, played by Dhanush, was one of the most toxic characters in Indian cinema, Kapoor's character, Zoya, was no less toxic, as she was taking advantage of Kundan's situation. She continued to treat him unfairly and put the blame on him, despite knowing that he had strong feelings for her in his heart.
Shanaya from Student Of The Year
In this 2012 film, Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt, and Varun Dhawan play the lead roles. Shanaya, played by Bhatt, is a key character in the narrative and is revealed to have a soft heart. While Rohan was focused on another woman who wasn't his girlfriend, Shanaya decided to fight for his attention. She asks Abhimanyu for aid, begins to feel attracted to him, and ends up kissing him. She later dumps him as well. Being unable to manage her priorities made Shanaya toxic, and she simply places the blame for the entire situation on her confusion.

Tanu from Tanu Weds Manu
This Bollywood hit from 2011 features Kangana Ranaut and R. Madhavan in the major roles. Tanuja Trivedi, also known as Tanu, was portrayed by Ranaut. She plays a loud-mouthed girl from a small town. Tanu treated her partner like a sidekick in his own life and was a dominating woman. She fell in love with a man, married another man, had problems in her marriage, went back to the first man, and was saddened to learn that he was getting married to someone else. When you strive to be happy in life, Tanu is that ex that keeps popping up. She wasn't the quirky, carefree, but toxic girlfriend.
Natasha from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
Abhay Deol plays Kabir Dewan in the 2011 movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and Kalki Koechlin plays Natasha Arora. In the film, Natasha was seen as an extremely insecure girlfriend to Kabir. First of all, when Kabir showed her the ring at a table crowded with family and friends, she assumed it was for her. Without even waiting for him to speak, she broke the news on her own. Her thoughts were diverted when she saw Leila in Kabir's room, and she ultimately disrupted her fiancé's bachelor party. Her toxicity was evident in the way she crashed her fiance's bachelor celebration and the way she created a scene there.
Taani from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma play key roles in the 2008 hit film, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Sharma is portrayed as Taani as being innocent, naive, and shy. She was compelled to wed well-behaved office worker Surinder Sahni, but that doesn't give her the freedom to leave him and develop feelings for other, unknown men. In addition, Taani didn't like Surinder Sahni since he wasn't cool, dashing, or good-looking. She started to like Raj Kapoor because of his personality and sense of style, which she did not find in Sahni. She is a woman who chases nice looks rather than having a good character.
