Toofaan OTT Release Date: Farhan Akhtar announced a new release date for Toofaan, today. The film completed its shooting in March 2020 but the theatrical release was delayed multiple times due to the pandemic. The sports drama is now all set for a digital release next month. It will be now released on 16th July.
The film was initially slated for a theatrical release in October 2020 but was indefinitely postponed due to the the pandemic. Akhtar took to Twitter to announce the new release date today.

When and where to watch Toofaan?
Toofaan will be released on 16th July on Amazon Prime Video. The highly anticipated sports drama was earlier to be released on 21st May but was delayed.
What is it about?
The movie is a sports drama that revolves around the life of Ajju, an orphan in Dongri in Mumbai, who grows up to be a local goon. His life turns around when he meets Ananya, a kind and compassionate young woman who encourages him to follow his passions. Ajju then embarks on a journey to become Aziz Ali, a national boxing champion.
“Toofaan is a story that will motivate and inspire all of us to get out of comfort zones and fight towards achieving our dreams. We cannot wait to present our film to viewers across the globe,” Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra had earlier told ANI.
Who all are starring in the film?
Akhtar plays the lead as Ajju and Paresh Rawal plays the role of his boxing coach. The film also features Mrunal Thakur, Supriya Pathak Kapur and Hussain Dalal.
It is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and produced by Excel Entertainment (Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar) and ROMP Pictures (Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra). This is the second collaboration between Mehra and Farhan Akhtar after the 2013 film, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, the autobiographical movie on the life of Milkha Singh.
