Tisca Chopra's Supernatural Thriller 'Dahan' Trailer Out, Series To Release Soon

The upcoming supernatural thriller series Dahan-Raakan Ka Rahasya, in which Tisca Chopra stars as a IAS officer, is a dark story of superstition and myth. A trailer and the show's release schedule were just made available by the makers.

In the series, an IAS official embarks on a quest to discover the truth in the face of impending calamity after encountering ancient beliefs and tales. The series is set in Shilaspura, popularly known as "The Land of the Dead." A rural village where supernatural events occur constantly.

Dahan Trailer :

The two-minute-long &t=41s">trailer suggests that the drama explores society and its values and causes its protagonists to confront their worst fears. The story begins when a mining operation poses a threat to the town, which is home to a mythical temple.  According to mythology, temple can inflict a fatal curse if destroyed. Despite such myths, an IAS officer embarks on a mission to dispel the village's long-standing superstitions in the wake of mysterious killings and disappearances. The drama is set amid Rajasthan's distinctively rocky landscapes, promises catharsis with its use of cursed caves, stolen gold, and family secrets.

Tisca Chopra plays an IAS officer in the show, and other notable actors with significant parts include Rajesh Tailang, Mukesh Tiwari, Saurabh Shukla, Ankur Nayyar, Rohan Joshi, and Lehar Khan.  Nisarg Mehta, Shiva Bajpai, and Nikhil Nair wrote the drama, and  Vikranth Pawar directed it. Rishi Negi, Banijay Asia, and Deepak Dhar are the producers.

Chopra comments on the show's narrative and structure. She remarked, "Dahan-Raakan Ka Rahasya depicts genuine dread as each character fights their own demons, and that is what I love most about it. When my character, Avani Raut, is caught in the crossfire of superstition, the paranormal, resin, and practicality, on the other hand, she fights both personal and professional struggles. Avani Raut's entwined internal and exterior worries, which we all experience, set her on a quest.  Introducing Dahan and Avani to the audience has been a true joy. I'm so delighted to introduce this complex, grey character."

The series will have nine episodes and to be released on September 16, only on Disney Plus Hotstar.
