10 Things To Know About Upcoming Thriller, Bell Bottom

The Akshay Kumar starrer has been making headlines for one controversy after another. Earlier the film was rumoured to release on an OTT platform but the makers clarified that no such decision has been taken by them.

The latest in Bell Bottom controversy is the lead actor, Akshay Kumar's fee for the film. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the actor asked for a fee of Rs 117 crores to film Bell Bottom but the producer asked him to lower his fee by Rs 30 crores and Kumar agreed.

The report was refuted by Kumar as he called in a fake scoop in social media tweet. There was no further clarification given by the actor.

• Apart from Akshay Kumar, the film has Huma Qureshi, Vaani Kapoor and Lara Dutta.
• According to the plot details released by the makers so far, the film is going to a spy-thriller set in the 1980s. It will essay the real-life plane hijack incident of that time.
• Lara Dutta is reported to portray the character of Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India and Vaani Kapoor will play the role of Akshay Kumar's wife. Kumar will the role of a RAW agent.
• The film has been produced under the banners Pooja Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment.
• Bell Bottom became the first film to complete shooting in an international location during the pandemic when productions were on hold. It was shot in Glasgow, Scotland.
• Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and  Nikkhil Advani have co-produced the film.
• The film has been written by Parvez Sheikh and Aseem Arora for the screenplay.
• Like many cinematic projects during the pandemic, Bell Bottom was also delayed. Earlier it was supposed to release on January 26, 2020, but due to the wave of the pandemic in the country, the release date was pushed to April 2021. The release was further delayed because of the second wave  COVID-19. The reported release for now is July 27, 2021.
